This is an exciting time to be working with organizations on how to approach the Americans with Disabilities Act. Never before has there been the technology so ready to meet the diversity that defines the human race. One size no longer needs to fit all.
The nest is an apt image. The bird using its breast to mold a nest that is unique to her and her partner, bringing back unique building materials. Technology is putting this ideal of customization within reach. It is now a question of policies that support this highly creative time in history.

ADA Consultation
My experience is with transit. An industry historically tied to the normative so a particularly wonderful place to work with leadership in rethinking its relationship to diversity.
- Started in transit one year after the enactment of the ADA in the newly created planning unit responsible for compliance.
- Designed and drafted the policies related to ADA paratransit services.
- Implemented the first community based accessible van service.
- Before leaving to attend design school, lead planner for staff responsible for agency-wide ADA compliance, community based accessible programs and ADA paratransit budget and policies.
- After returning to transit, lead team in implementing conditional eligibility for ADA paratransit services. Nominated to King County Metro Hall of Fame.
- Took the lead in agency-wide compliance and designated ADA Compliance Officer in 2014.
- Lead a successful agency-wide effort to come into compliance with stop announcements.
- Developed and lead an agency-wide implementation of reasonable modification policies. Nominated to King County Metro Hall of Fame.
- Pursued a national grant to bring customers with disabilities closer to transit decisionmakers. Resulted for the first time in customers as part of the selection committee for ADA paratransit contractors.
